Revamping the meaning of an iconic symbol for a new generation of listeners.
Apple pioneered the world of digital music with iTunes and iPod over 15 years ago. Much have changed, but the now iconic music note has remained the center of their music identity.
So when Music asked us for a new visual identity it made sense to not throw their heritage out of the window but instead fill it with new meaning. We created bespoke artworks, integrating the iconic music note at the center of each story, turning the note from a static symbol to a gateway to all exciting things surrounding music.
This new visual language spoke to all music audiences on outdoor billboards, and offered a gateway to exclusive Music content on digital media. But it also allowed the brand to own key moments in music culture, such as music festivals, album launches, content releases and other events in the calendar.
