At the time the public privacy debate was mostly focused around electoral influence by foreign governments or malicious hackers using our data. But the truth is that the biggest threat to our privacy is made by corporations that access and profit from our data. At the same time, the general public couldn't see how this was relevant to them since they "had nothing to hide". We wanted to make this relevant through relatable privacy seeking everyday situations. Ultimately reminding people that if privacy matters in our lives, it should matter to the phone our life is on.
This was followed up by providing proof points how iPhone protected the user. A few examples below:
